Chandigarh Administration Clerk & Steno Recruitment 2026: The Chandigarh Administration has released an official notification for the recruitment of Clerk and Steno-Typist posts under Group ‘C’ category. This recruitment will be conducted under the Ministerial (Non-Gazetted) Common Cadre Recruitment Rules, 2026. The minimum age limit is 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 27 years as on 26th April 2026. The age relaxation for the reserved category candidates will be as follows.

The written exam for the clerk and typist posts will be conducted in two tiers. The exam will be conducted offline in OMR Based Format. Each question will carry 1 mark. There will be no negative marking. The medium of examination will be English.

Typing Test And Proficiency Test
For the Post of Clerk Only: Typing Test in English on a computer for 10 minutes @ 35 words per minute. Only Qualifying Test (No marks/Weightage)
For the Post of Steno Typist Posts: Stenography Test in English Dictation: 10 Minutes @ 80 w.p.m. Transcription: 50 minutes (on Computer) in English. Only Qualifying Test (No marks/Weightage).
Chandigarh Administration Clerk Salary 2026
Selected candidates will receive salary as per the 7th Pay Commission — Clerks at Level-2 and Steno-Typists at Level-3. In addition to basic pay, employees receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and medical facilities, along with retirement benefits including Provident Fund (PF) and a pension scheme.
